Hey! Angel LOVES his people. Yes, you're great at character prespective but I must sulk now *pouts* He'd DIE for his people.
I must say it struck me before and it struck me again the similarities between Wes and Ri. I always thought they were both a bit like Xander but they are amazingly alike in certain ways. Especially that need to prove themselves. It seems to be a reaccuring theme, Angel and Wes and Ri and Xander ... I'm pretty sure I've said this before but you have a subtle way of showing it that doesn't make them seem weaker or carbon copy. Keeping in with their originalities :-)
Oh and I love this bit ... as well as the Dark Avenger one *bg*: Watching them, Riley was reminded of latchkey kids coming home from school, hoping there would be a parent there to greet them, but instead finding that once again they would be cooking their own supper. Was that what Angel was to them? Not just their employer but their surrogate father? And did that make Buffy the wicked stepmother in their lives? And what the heck did that make him? He realized his head was already starting to thump just thinking about it.
I really do wish Ri and Xand got them to go SD ...
