Very cool story! I love that you showed how Jack and Daniel not being together has its own advantages. That's a great take on it and made the friendship plenty satisfying.
Thank you for reading and commenting. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)
Great to see a new story from you (even if it was on the HDD), and I hope you're doing well!
There are apparently quite a few fic I wrote as Circe that were in the Pretense magazines that I haven't ever given ankh_lj to post to bunnyfic either, so I will try to get those to her as soon as I can find what disk they're on. They won't be properly 'new' either but they might be new to someone. Not that there is exactly a shortage of fic in our fandom, thank goodness!
I'm fine. Things were a little stressful because my sister has been in and out of hospital for the last three months with secondary arterial pulmonary hypertension, and is now on oxygen all the time, like my mother, luckily, on Thursday they finally found out what is causing it - which is her blood disorder (spherocytosis), which doesn't usually cause other problems once the spleen is removed (which she had done when she was nine) so the doctors are all fascinated by her condition now and can't wait to try out various experimental therapies on her. Luckily, she lives in France, where the medical care is fantastic. So, I'm actually much happier than I was when they didn't know what the cause was, although I'm hoping the treatment they try in September works and she won't have to go to Paris for an operation. Quite apart from other considerations, French hospitals, for all their other virtues (which are many), cannot grasp the concept of 'vegetarian' at all and my sister is definitely at the 'willing to sell her soul for a bag of lentils and a decent cous cous salad' place.
