Oooh, yes, A Matter of Time! I avoided it for quite a while for the same reasons, heh. And I was astonished at how fantastic it was. I think there are three or four eps, total, that have little or no Daniel that I actually like - this one is definitely on the top of the list. Besides, when Sam says that "at least Daniel will still be out there" I always melt into a puddle of teamy goodness goo. :) Thanks for the tip - I am dire need of a Sam/Teal'c icon.
And, oh! Don't get me started on Maybourne! It was one of the things I really liked about Ripples - you kept Maybourne the bad guy, and made Makepeace a good guy who had made the wrong choices for the right reasons. I will never ever ever understand why Maybourne is such a fan favorite. I never saw Foothold as a Sam-and-Maybourne teamup, though. More like a Sam slaps Maybourne down hard episode. :) And it was actually a good thing, I think, to make Maybourne do something right for a change - it made him three-dimensional instead of boringly cookie-cutter eeeevil.
