Thank you for the wonderful words. I found the early stuff quite hard to write, to be honest, but I wanted Angel to forgive him before Connor came back and I've always thought that if Wesley turned up on their doorstep in a bad way they would have found they couldn't sustain their anger towards him, so I was trying that out as an idea. I felt so sorry for Connor in S4. He was such a screwed up kid and I really wanted him to have a nice life, so this is my way of giving that to him.
I know in the wider scheme of things, given all the sons of other men that Angel killed, it probably wouldn't have felt dramatically truthful if the show had let him have the joy of seeing his own child grow up, when he took that away from so many other people, but the great thing about fanfic is you don't have to worry about the wider ethical balance, you can just wave a magic wand and give Angel back his son. *G*
The AU Wesley stuff made me cry, to be honest, but I didn't want to leave it that he was just this screwed up person we heard about but didn't get to see. I really wanted it made clear that he was loved and safe and being taken care of by people who would protect him. Thanks again for the feedback.
