The Writers' Strike - some useful links
Nov. 9th, 2007 10:58 amThe good people on Whedonesque have been sending pizza to the striking writers and are in the process of getting a site up so that people can make contributions.
Also from Whedonesque, this site has icons available for fans (of many shows and rising) to show their support for the writers.
There is a (first) post from Joss Whedon here: http://whedonesque.com/comments/14639#195462 and a second one here: http://whedonesque.com/comments/14650#more
Edward Allen Bernero of 'Criminal Minds' made an excellent post setting out the issues here: http://criminalmindsfanatic.blogspot.com/2007/11/edward-allen-bernero-speaks-to-fans-of.html
I would also recommend:
The Writers Strike And What It Means For You
United Hollywood Blogspot
The Pencils Down ad put out by the Writers Guild of America, West
Stephen Falk's blog Plaintive Wail
ETA
Nikki Finke's blog is fabulous and should be checked out every day.
There has been so much biased reporting from Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, IMDB, The LA Times etc etc that it's wonderful to see the way the Internet that is being fought over has turned into a weapon for the writers.
This video (in which the same studios who claim to be too unsure of how the Internet will impact on their business to be able to offer the writers a percentage of the non-existent profits they claim to be making tell people how much money they're making from digital and downloads and how much they expect to be making in the future) is a must see:

Fingers crossed for Atlantis renewal
Oct. 4th, 2007 10:09 amIf you're an Atlantis fan it definitely feels like sacrificing the vegetable of your choice to the Gods of TV Season Renewal might be a good idea right now. It sounds pretty touch-and-go at the moment if we get a S5 or not, but I'm feeling a bit more optimistic than I was a few days ago.

Sci Fi renews 'Stargate Atlantis'
Networks orders 20 episodes for fifth season
By JOHN DEMPSEY
Sci Fi Channel has ordered 20 new episodes of 'Stargate Atlantis.'
The Sci Fi Channel has given a fifth-season renewal to "Stargate Atlantis," commissioning 20 fresh episodes.
I'm so pleased about this. I think this was a very deserved renewal. The first four episodes of S4 have all been excellent and the show has been really consistent from the beginning.
( More Musings (and Some Ranting) )

Cordy/Fred fic recs
Sep. 25th, 2007 04:04 pmI'm putting these wonderful Cordy/Fred fic recs that were left for me in this post (in the comments sections) Cordy/Fred fic recs into a separate post for easy access for myself and others. Many, many thanks to the person who recced them and for her links and comments. All of the ones I have read so far are terrific and it was such a thrill to find so many good fic for what has been a fairly neglected pairing.
