I'm still sorting out my HDD, re-loading pics and vids and going through files. This is a SG-1 fic I wrote back in 1999, where our Jack and Daniel are just good friends but the AU versions of them are in a romantic relationship. I don't know why it was never posted to http://www.bunnyfic.com but it was probably because I'm not very organized and, until now (touches wood) all my computers were insane.

I'm still grabbing back things I lost when my HDD ate itself in January and thought I would share some links. Just in case anyone on my friend's list has missed these Teal'c vids in the past, a few recs:

The wonderful Beth of Dedicated to Stargate (SG-1 http://www.stargatesg1971.com/main.html) has an excellent Teal'c vid. It's to Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life' but even though that song has been used so often, I think Beth makes it feel completely new and shiny in the way she has matched the lyrics so perfectly to Teal'c. I also really love this fun Wimsy vid Celebration with Teal'c getting over working for Apophis and the most perfectly appropriate/inappropriate song choice. (Fourth vid down.)

And a hearty recommendation for this gorgeous, angsty Teal'c vid by the brilliant Barkley. I'm watching this one pretty much on a permanent loop right now. A wonderful reminder of how moving and complex Teal'c's choices were all the way back in S1. Barkley has given me permission to put up a link and the passwords, too, which are as so:

Teal'c makes some choices. (I also recommend all of Barkley's other vids. 'Never Die Young' still makes me cry and want to give poor Jack a hug even five years after 'Meridian'.)

I would love any more recs anyone has either for music vids that are either Teal'c by himself or Teal'c/Someone.

The other news is good too, and on another day I'd be very excited about the 'Goners' news and horror film news and everything else, but I have to admit the part that has me doing the Dance of Joy right now is the news about Ripper. So, so happy about this. :)

I never read Joseph Mallozzi's weblog (Joseph Mallozz is a writer/producer on Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis for any people reading this who are not in SG-1 or SGA fandom and so don't know who he is) because I'm worried about seeing any SG-1 or SGA spoilers. (I haven't seen the second half of S10 of SG-1 yet so it would be perfectly reasonable for him or people asking him questions on his blog to post about those episodes without spoiler warnings as most people have seen them already rather than waiting for the DVD to come out.) But today's answers to some questions (sent to me by a kindly friend) - despite having a small spoiler - made me squee.

This made me absolutely howl. Although it's written about Doctor Who fandom, much of it applies just as well to so many others:

Oh, and as far as Doctor Who goes, I would count as:

“I've been a Doctor Who fan since the 1960s.”
I am 43 and can just about remember Patrick Troughton.

Well, 41, but close enough. I really only remember Tomb of the Cybermen - which absolutely terrified my brother and me, although I've watched all the Patrick Troughton eps still available since on VHS, but Jon Pertwee was 'my' doctor when I was growing up. (I had a big crush on Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart, which is just sad.) I pitched a big hissy fit about Tom Baker taking over and so didn't get to see some of the amazing episodes from that era until years later on video. When my father died, my mother and I realized that 'Doctor Who' was the ultimate comfort television and we bought every episode available on VHS and pigged out on it. It was the best possible therapy and I recommend it to anyone.

I’m still feeling a bit depressed after coming down from the high of foliogal coming over for a visit. I look forward to it all year and then time speeds up so much while she’s over here that twelve days zipped by in the blink of an eye. The only solution is to start planning for next year! Thanks to the angelic ankh_lj collecting foliogal at the airport and coming up for the weekend, we got to go to some local beauty spots and foliogal took some photographs to die for (which I can't remember how to post, having lost all my LJ HTML info in the Big Crash of January 2007).

In between the walks in the woods and spending too much money in town, we had a wonderful time rewatching Buffy episodes, Angel episodes, Atlantis episodes and SPN as well as many films. It was also great to see some new (to us) Alexis in his Highlander episode. Darn, he was pretty, but his character was very Bad indeed. One simply can’t treat Brian May’s wife that way. To console myself for foliogal’s departure, I’ve just been wallowing in ‘Faith’ where I expected him to be playing a background character and was amazed that he turned out to be so pivotal. I’m not saying any more because foliogal hasn’t watched it yet, but…pretty!

CONTENT WARNINGS: A major character is tortured. Although the injuries he receives are not life threatening the person involved is still not having a very nice time and people might not want to read about it. There is some minor bad language (half of the story is told from Jack's POV). The violence and language are probably more like PG but there are also some sexual implications in things said, suggested, and threatened. None of our heroes are raped, mutilated, or killed, but SG-1 don't exactly have a fun time either.
SUMMARY: After the events of 'Shades of Gray' Daniel is kidnapped by a rogue NID offshoot and the rest of SG-1 are caught up in a desperate race against time to save him.

CONTENT WARNINGS: Violence. Language. Physical and emotional cruelty to SG-1. Attempted rape of a major character. Description of a medical procedure performed upon a major character. Mention of previous minor character(s) death(s). Some romantic implications in relationship between Sam and Martouf. Plus, Jack and Daniel hold a few rather dubious conversations. Basically every member of SG-1 is traumatized and/or physically damaged in some way during the course of this story. On the upside, Daniel is naked for one scene, and SG-1 do all briefly wear pyjamas.
SUMMARY: Daniel's ill treatment by the priests of Onuris causes Jack and Teal'c to forget their own compassion. Unable to escape from a hostile world, it becomes increasingly apparent that SG-1 is trapped within a self-fulfilling prophecy of which only they are ignorant. But will their attempts to evade the wrath of a vengeful Goa'uld, free the people from a false god, or only bring about their own deaths?

Some minor language from Jack, and Daniel makes a very dubious joke.
SUMMARY: After the events of 'Legacy' an exiled Goa'uld tries to use Jack's feelings of guilt and Daniel's feelings of inadequacy to persuade them that Daniel should leave SG-1.
