I’m still feeling a bit depressed after coming down from the high of foliogal coming over for a visit. I look forward to it all year and then time speeds up so much while she’s over here that twelve days zipped by in the blink of an eye. The only solution is to start planning for next year! Thanks to the angelic ankh_lj collecting foliogal at the airport and coming up for the weekend, we got to go to some local beauty spots and foliogal took some photographs to die for (which I can't remember how to post, having lost all my LJ HTML info in the Big Crash of January 2007).

In between the walks in the woods and spending too much money in town, we had a wonderful time rewatching Buffy episodes, Angel episodes, Atlantis episodes and SPN as well as many films. It was also great to see some new (to us) Alexis in his Highlander episode. Darn, he was pretty, but his character was very Bad indeed. One simply can’t treat Brian May’s wife that way. To console myself for foliogal’s departure, I’ve just been wallowing in ‘Faith’ where I expected him to be playing a background character and was amazed that he turned out to be so pivotal. I’m not saying any more because foliogal hasn’t watched it yet, but…pretty!

I'm into it like I am Atlantis - I buy the DVDs when they come out and watch them and really enjoy them, and I love to find a good music vid in the fandom, but I don't read the fic or what people say about the episodes.

This seems to be the Show That Ate Fandom, which I completely understand because it has everything - brothers loving each other more than they love their own lives, tons of hurt-comfort, and angst and familial bonding and pretty young men being whumped. It's really the perfect show. Has it managed to snag you in its net as well then? (I'm still sulking about it seducing eloisebright away from writing Wesley fic.)

I really fought against it. Khek and Obelix kept trying to get me to watch it, but I was too squicked about the LITTLE brother being taller than the BIG brother. Really bugged me. Then Folsom Prison Blues aired and Khek came on LJ complaining she recognised a song from high school and couldn't place it. So I thought I'd watch to see if I knew the song....

Next day I went down and bought the Season one DVD's. Bloody Hell. And were Khek and Obelix LOUD AND NOISY about my fall!

I still wish Sam were shorter than Dean, but you can't have it all *G*

I haven't been this excited about a show in... well... TEN YEARS.

When I first heard about the show, I'd seen Jensen Ackles in 'Dark Angel' and was excited to think of him being the younger brother, but when I heard he was the older one, my excitement did dial down a notch, I have to say. But I love how sweet and loving Sam and Dean are together. I can really understand the excitement as it does have absolutely everything that a hurt-comfort familial-bonding fan could wish. I'm so glad you've got a show to be excited about (even if Khek and Obelix are jeering and pointing at your inevitable fall!).

If I had my way I would do nothing from dawn to dusk *but* write Wesley fic! It's my idea of the Best Fun Ever. I'm really hoping for a couple of months at the end of the year when the other things I'm meant to be doing are finished and I can have a self-indulgent wallow in writing fanfic. In the meantime I'm downloading all the Buffy episodes (and have already downloaded all the Angel episodes) so I have them on my HDD so I don't have to go to the vast effort of putting in a DVD from my boxsets when I want a Wesleyfix and can just click straight to a scene....
