Angel never seemed to get tetchy with Cordy and Wesley the way Giles (understandably) did and I could only think it was because he thought of them as kids. (And they weren't coming onto Buffy like poor Xander, who he was pretty mean to on occasion.) I do love SingleParent!Angel in S1 of 'Angel' who is so long-suffering about Cordelia and Wesley's cute little squabbles.
