Movies and Research (http://www.dymphna.net/secretslash/2001/moviesandresearch.html) - sharp, funny, well-developed Cordy POV on her own backstory, getting wise, and going after Fred. A cameo by Angel acts as a sweet, knowing flourish for this sweet little story. Cordelia remembers when Wolfram and Hart tampered with her visions, forcing that literally blistering pain on her, remembers Fred perched shyly on her bed, dabbing her forehead with a cold compress, repeating nonsense words in a honeyed voice. It actually helped, soothed even, on some level as Fred babbled about the time her cousin in Dallas ran a high fever and everyone was convinced he wouldn't last the night. But he survived and Cordelia would survive. She'd wanted to tell Fred to shut up, had had this urge to trample all over Fred because she was timid and eccentric, the way Queen C would've done without a second thought. Because there's something in Fred, something small and indefinable that she variously wants to nurture or break. Maybe she's just jealous of the way Fred clings to Angel when it was Cordelia who made first contact, who had her face ground into supremely gross stable dirt, who took Fred to a Mexican restaurant the day after they got back from Pylea when everyone else was in a state of paralysis about Buffy. It was Cordelia who took charge of getting Fred settled, buying her clothes, toiletries, making sure she ate, while Angel mourned and eventually left. So she feels like she has some kind of ownership of Fred's affection.

Settling for Perfection (http://www.dymphna.net/secretslash/2001/settlingforperfection.html) - Angel's gently insistent. Cordy and Fred are believably awkward, get buzzed on margaritas, and practice a few things, starting with cheerleading. Sweet and funny.

Heavenly (http://www.dymphna.net/secretslash/2005/heavenly.html) - in the afterlife, Fred finds out she's chosen Cordelia as her guide. Then, they choose each other. Sweet, funny, and a little sad, spiked with sharp little observations and dialogue that keep the piece feeling true. If Fred's honest, she's always sort of been in awe of Cordelia, her confidence and poise and certainly her beauty. While she's being honest, she acknowledges that a teeny, tiny part of her relished Cordelia's absence during the coma. Suddenly Fred was centre stage for the first time in her life. Then comes the guilt associated with that train of thought. Not that she would ever share any of that with the girl in question.

Sweet Tequila (http://community.livejournal.com/femslash_minis/21205.html) - Fred has plans for the evening. Cordelia's happy to get drunk with Fred anytime. For several seconds, Cordelia didn’t say a word. Then she let out a soft laugh as she reached out to touch Fred’s arm. “Well, it’s a good thing that I’m drunk then,” she said lightly.

Fred looked up, an uncertain expression on her face. “I- I don’t understand.”

“The only time I make out with other women is when I’m drunk,” Cordelia replied with some impatience. “If you want any more details, you’re going to have to talk with Harmony. Or Aura. Or Shanisse. Or Joy.”
