I love that take on Fallen. ::nods:: So beautifully put - it takes understanding of what SG-1 really is to comprehend that such a strong love can be platonic. (And heh, it fits nicely into my firmly focused gen glasses for the whole team, too!)
Maybourne never turned loveable for me. He got on my nerves too much, and I found him completely OOC in S8. No natural progression for me, nope. Kinda like the forced OOC revamping of Vala's personality, for me. :)
Glad you liked the reviews! And YES, "Salt of the Earth" was a Sam fic, all the way. I wish the writers hadn't insisted on making her love life (in any dimension) such important plot points, but once it's already there, where's the team support? (Thinks of Daniel pointedly repeating in Ascension, "How's Sam?") Re the tumble down the ramp in 2001 - I complained about this too, in a recent post somewhere on my LJ, and it was pointed out that after the way she came crashing through, Janet would have killed them if they'd moved her before Janet had a chance to check for spinal injuries. On the other hand, someone could have come forward and touched her hand. Or something.
